The Restraining Order – a chance for the victims

Since May 2012, we have Law 25 which comes to modify Law 217/2003 with an important legal measure for the protection of the victim: the restraining order can only be issued by the court, but complaint can also be filed – with the victim's consent – by the public prosecutor, the representative of the local authority or local structure with competence in the domestic violence field, or the representative of any accredited social services provider in the area of preventing and fighiting against domestic violence. According to article 29 from Law 25/2012, paragraph 5, the restraining order can be issued in case of emergency in the same day the complaint was filed.  read more...
